Emily was in labor for quite some time with Kolton. So when she began her induction that morning, we all anticipated it might be a while before Ethan made his grand entrance! Being myself and not being able to just sit at home with all of the excitement, I just hang out in town all day the day of births-- just so I can be minutes away from the hospital! While checking on Emily, her text back was such a surprise! She wasn't moving slowly at all, and so I headed right over in anticipation of meeting Mr. Ethan!
Emily was adopted as a baby. Because of her being adopted, her parents had yet to experience birth. Since Emily's mom was present for Kolton's birth, it was now her dads turn to watch the miracle of birth as his precious grandson entered the world.
After much hard work, Ethan was here! I also think it is super special that Ethan was named after Emily's dad, Scott. Ethan Scott arrived at 1:12 p.m weighing 10lbs and 10oz. He was 22.5 inches long. No, you did not read that incorrectly, he really did weigh 10lbs! Almost 11 :)
I have said it before and I will say it again. Birth is simply the most amazing thing to be a part of. It is the best moment of your life, hands down. Watching Emily and Kalob become parents again was of course emotional, and full of priceless moments. But I will truly never forgot the look on Scott's face as he, for the very first time, witnessed life come into this world through the birth of his grandson.
See, I told you he weighed 10lbs! :)
Yes, I am pretty sure it may have been brotherly love at first sight.
Emily & Kalob- Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of this amazing time in your lives. Words can not express how honored I am to document all of these precious moments in the boys lives. I already am in love with sweet Ethan, just like his brother! I can not wait to watch him grow this first year. Thank you guys again, from the bottom of my heart!
